Vision Rehabilitation Therapy

What is Vision Rehabilitation Therapy?

Vision Rehabilitation Therapy focuses on teaching individuals with vision loss adaptive techniques to live independently at home, school, or work.

Similar to occupational therapy for individuals who have lost a limb, Vision Rehabilitation Therapy helps clients develop strategies to maximize their remaining vision or compensate for its loss. The goal is to maintain independence, rebuild confidence, and support a strong sense of self-worth.

This is achieved through goal setting, the introduction of assistive devices, and personalized training.

Training Areas Include:

  • Using household appliances
  • Adapting tablets and computers
  • Using home phones and cell phones
  • Basics of Braille
  • Cooking, cleaning, and laundry
  • Organization and labeling techniques

Our Vision Rehabilitation Therapy services are provided by Kristen Lilly, a graduate of Salus University with a master’s degree in Vision Rehabilitation Therapy and a certificate in Low Vision Rehabilitation.
