Transitioning to Independence Program

Our Transitioning to Independence Program (TIP) provides high school students who are blind and visually impaired with the skills and knowledge they need to successfully transition from high school to college and/or employment. The goal of this program is to help students identify and learn the steps they need to take to make the successful transition to life beyond high school.

The program curriculum is divided into three main areas: Self –Advocacy, Independent Living and Job and College Preparation. The components are then broken down into a deeper focus at each monthly session—with experts in each area providing hands-on training opportunities.

If you know of a student in high school and will be transitioning into secondary school or the workforce and might be interested in participating in this program – please contact Kris at 570-693-3555 x222.
